Companion Planting with carrots

    • Allium family [  Chives,  Leek,  Onions, etc] , Annual flowers, Leaf lettuce,  Peas, Radish, Sage, Tomatoes 
  • Helped by: 
    • When planted next to the tomatoes the carrots will not grow as big as other times.  What they will have though a good carrot flavor.
    • Allium family planted inbeteen carrots confuse the carrot flies
    • Rosemary
    • Wormwood
    • Aromatic companion plants repel carrot fly ~ although it is undecided how  Radish, Rosemary, Sage actually are beneficiary to carrots.  Possibly a quantity thing - as in too much of could be overbearing re tolerance factors.
    • Beans provide the nitrogen carrots badly need.
    • Flax - produces an oil that 'may' protect root vegetables in general from root pests.
    • Carrots need to be able to flower when you want the beneficial insect attracting properties to actually work.
    • Qeen Anne's Lace - brings in beneficial insects.

    • hosts of other predatory wasps.
