The curry plant is a herb, Helichrysum italicum (Helichrysum angustifolium) comes from the family Asteraceae (Compositae).

Originally from tropical areas. In much cooler areas the plant may be grown as an annual outside or a pot plant inside as the plant is usually not frost hardy.

The curry plant itself has a pungent curry smell however the curry plant is not used in curry's.  Although curry plants are used in salads or mixed in cream cheeses.
